Biography

Born in Santa Cruz California I grew up around a family of artists. Spending my time drawing and painting on clothes, shoes, wood, paper and everything around me. I went to The University of California at Davis taking all art classes and then transfered to California College of Arts and Crafts (now CCA) in San Francisco to concentrate on painting and printmaking. After graduating I spent a couple years in San Francisco working at SFMOMA and volunteering with amazing artists at Creativity Explored an art center for developmentally disabled artist while drawing everyday. The artists and staff at CE really stimulated my need for a new world and I decided to move to Japan. I have been working and drawing in Tokyo for 6 years now. Interested in its consumer culture and bright lights I found the perfect place for stimulation and calmness. Being an extremely prolific artists I switched from painting to pencil on paper allowing me a more controlled detailed way to track my time. Since moving to Japan I have traveled all over Asia and seen many new things yet I feel like my art has always been a consistent reflection of my internal world and vision.
